Summer is finally here

Summer is here. Was nice to actually have a weekend with some warm weather, after have the past 3 or 4 weekends cold and wet. Means a lot more of the outside jobs can be completed or even started.

Nige has been busy painting the gate frames and pickets, that has taken a lot of his time. And l believe it is almost complete so now all is needed is to put the pickets to the gate and then put the gates up. That might stop a certain cheeky little monkey heading out the front to see what is happening (when we are not watching her).

Saturday we caught up with great-gran (or GG), and she treated the kids (big and small) some maccas. It was nice to catch up with her and the kids love playing with her when we see her.

Nige then spent the rest of Saturday painting the pickets for the fence while the kids entertained each other outside. It was such a lovely day. Nige was pretty worn out after all the painting so it was a nice quiet night in.

Sunday poor Tahlia was not well. We think it was the gastro bug. She had a few small vomits so no church for mummy and Tahlia. After a bath and some toast, she was full of energy and you would have never know she was so sick and pale when we first got her up.

She helped mummy clean up the patio area and the table. Now with the warmer weather we plan to eat a lot of our meals out in the open air. We also were busy washing down the deck, as thanks to daddy when he was putting in the posts for the gates he had left behind muddy footprints all over the deck.

Seeing it was such a lovely warm day we thought it was time to clean the flyscreen from the windows in the house. Tahlia had a blast helping mummy and getting all wet.

After all the hardwork Tahlia wanted an ice-cream (see she must be feeling better now). Was a nice and messy thing for to eat though.

Oliver just hanging around.

I thought l had better put up some photos of Nige's work with painting the gates. How he had transformed most of the backyard as a painters outdoor workshop (made it very hard for me to mow the grass). Well done Nige.

Here is Nige working hard.

He even found time in the afternoon to make some more mince pies. So he has been a very busy bee. His mince pies are pretty good and very hard not to eat them all myself. Sorry if none left for anyone else. Greedy little pig....

Had fish and chips down at the lake and then went and had a look at the Christmas lights and decorations. Nice ending to the weekend.

3 monkeys down the slide

Nathan loves to climb up the slipperly dip and got a surprise when daddy came down.

Tahlia loves the big slipperly dip

Infact she likes any type of slide.

It was funny as we went for a walk and she kept stopping and then frowning at us as we continued on the way. We thought it would take us twice as long to get back, so Nige gave her a piggy back and this is how she insisted on holding on.

Can't believe only 3 sleeps till Christmas.
Just wanting to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
