We spent our first 2 days in Adelaide seeing the sights.
We spent a day with Aunty June in Port Adelaide. She suggested we head out on the river on a dolphin sight seeing cruise. We were joined with a few other tourists and a bunch of school kids all excited in seeing some dolphins (the school kids that is).
It was a lovely ride up the river seeing what Port Adelaide had to offer now and in the past. We saw one dolphin at the start of the cruise but after that l think they were all hiding. Wonder if the excited school kids had anything to do with that.
After spending an hour or so on the river we got back and our bellies were rumbling ( must have been all that fresh air) so off to Fasta Pasta for a meal. It was lovely to catch up with Aunty June who had just been to New Zealand so had plenty to share about her trip.
Maybe that is where we will head next... (can't we dream at least).
Both kids were tired after lunch so we bid farewell to Aunty June and went back to where we were staying so the kids could have a nap.
Our second day in Adelaide we spent up in the Hills and meeting one of Renee's friends from a parents forum she is part of. We had a lovely morning with Kathy, Tony and their little girl Tess. Tess is the same age as Nathan and they had a ball together.
We met at the Giant Rocking horse, and they have a animal park there where you can feed the animals. As we were the first ones there the animals followed us along trying to grab the food. It was so cute to watch Nathan and Tess, they were like the Pied Piper with the pellets.
And were a big hit with the kangaroos, peacocks, geese, ducks, chickens to name a few.
All was well till a emu came along and was quite certain of what it wanted. For those who may not know Renee hate's emus and they do not like her either. But just as well Tony was there who knew how to handle the emu and kept it at bay from us all.
We wandered around and met a beautiful little wallaby, l could have taken it home. It was so friendly and so soft to touch. Both Nate and Tess loved to cuddle it. We spent some time feeding the little wallaby and then thought time for us to get some food.

But on the way back we came face to face with the horrid emu and it chased Renee. But ah l made it thru the gate and could stare back at the emu and laugh. hmmm hope it does not remember me next time.
We had something to eat in the cafe and watched the kids playing together with the toys in there. They all got along so well. After we all fuelled up again we all went to the Melba chocolate factory (and yep left plenty of room for chocolate and other samples).
Brought some much needed chocolate and then bid farewell to Kathy, Tony and Tess. Was lovely to meet them all.
The kids fell asleep in the car (all that feeding animals must have worn them out) so we drove around Mt Lofty, and surrounds and then headed to Harbour Town which is a bit like DFO.
Walked around the beach, had some dinner and then went to watch the sunset over the beach. Another day on our holiday.
