And she is walking

What an exciting week with Tahlia, she has found that she can get around quicker with her little wheelie from and boy does she run with it. I actually got in on video and here is the link with youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbzsTERbcjw She just looks so proud of herself.

Now that she has found her feet she seems a lot happier and cheeky. Went shopping with mum this week, while Nate was at "school" and she giggled most of the day. A very different girl.
Here she is with her trusty lion walker.

Sprung!

Nathan on his new bed and with the pj's nana and poppy (my folks) gave to him.

Both kids are now in their own room and things can't be better. They are both sleeper thru the night which makes happy kids and that means happy parents.

Nathan loves his new bed and has even decoarated it with a loan felt tip pen he found. And this art work was done the first night in his new bed. Does not take him long! But other then that all is well and he has not fallen out of bed yet.

Tahlia and her bear (well Nate's)

Story time.

Nathan has fallen in love with books. And looks forward to sitting down with daddy after tea and reading some books together. He also loves his weekly trip to the local library and helping choose his books and then getting them stamped out.

He has also taken to ABC tv and his favourite shows are Fireman Sam, Bob the builder, Playschool, Seasme St and Playhouse disney.

It is funny to watch as Tahlia loves the tv too and can now stand up right in front, and her latest is standing there saying "ha ha ha" and banging the screen. The only way for Nate to see the tv is to join his little sister. He loves to tell her what is happening on the tv.... I am sure she understands ever word her big brother tells her.

Another milestone this week for Tahlia is she is no longer "gummy girl" and has 4 teeth. Two up the top are almost thru and two at the bottom are just poking through. Don't seem to be bothering her much, but she has started the game of "let's throw the food on the floor" this week. So maybe it hurts to eat. But she will scoff down her yoghurt or custard.

Saturday we attended the wedding of our friend's Lachie and Ned. Wonderful day weather wise, well l would have enjoyed the reception a bit more minus the miagraine. Nathan and Tahlia enjoyed the day with Grandma and Grandad M.

Sunday we celebrated another year for Grandma (or Great-gran) and had a family lunch at the Murden's. Lovely to catch up with the family (and yes the miagraine had gone).

Tahlia had the giggles when kicking the ball (with the help from daddy). Isn't she cute.

Tahlia's week of wars.

What a week it has been with little Tahlia. It all started with Monday which l call "Monday Itis". Both kids were ratty and over tired from a busy weekend (which usually happens on Mondays), so just a nice quiet day at home (or so l thought).

I could have sworn someone had come into the house and changed the little boy whom we knew as Nathan overnight. He was moody and anything in his path was at risk. 2 year old tantrums, l hear you all agreeing with us.

So some quiet time (or so l thought) in his room after lunch. More like "let's see what l can destroy" He had ripped pages out of one of his favourite books which he loves to read with daddy, and anything within reach of his cot (armslength) was strewn all over his room or in the cot. But thankfully (for those who have heard about his artistic skills) there was no finger painting with matter we won't mention.

Anyhow l hear you all ask, how does this involve Tahlia. Well Tahlia has a morning ritual. She wakes (she is still in our room due to extensions), says hello to us and then goes for her morning crawl into Nate's room and have their morning natter on the previous nights events (so they tell us).

She did her afternoon crawl into Nate's room and hear them laughing and squealing and then a high pitch scream (any mother would know what l mean). Rush in there to find Tahlia lying on the ground with the strolled on top of her face. Poor little mite l though. Easy to move but don't speak too soon, went to move the stroller only for Tahlia to move with it. The poor child had the stroller's legs wedged around her head and neck. After some time with me panicking and trying to soothe and child in pain and Nate was so worried. We finally got it off with much tugging. Let's say she was a little sore and red faced after wards.

But much better the next day and no real bruising or other injuries...phew!

Tahlia the day after her event with the stroller. See no harm done.

Extension Well we finally got carpet in the kids rooms. So now we have to finish Nate's bed (Nige is making) and then move him into his room and then Tahlia will be moved into the what we call nursery (where Nate is now). She will not go into her room till at least next year (when she is ready for a BIG bed).

Nate's is the blue room and Tahlia's is the Lilac room. (excuse the lead and vacum was cleaner after the carpet was put in)

Having new carpet puts our old carpet to shame. Next is to get it cleaned. Certainly needs it.

Another one of our little bear.

Playtime with daddy.

And a Sunday at the park

Tahlia thought the best means of transport for herself was this bouncy playtpus. But she soon learnt she was not getting anywhere fast. It was would while it lasted though.

If only l was a bit taller to see the sights, l wonder what l would see. Says Nathan.

Peekaboo l see you. Nathan & Tahlia

A ride on daddies shoulders is one way to get Tahlia smiling.

Loving this weather

Well another week has flown by and l do not know where the time has gone. Lucky my 2 are in good company and can entertain themselves as you can see.

hmmmm l wonder who can be in here....

almost there Tahlia

BOO it's Natey.

They play this for hours (well ok not hours but it must seem like that for them). And Nate hides in there and Tahlia will open the door and then giggle... and so on... it must be a lot of fun as Tahlia will have a good cackle. And for those who know Tahlia it is very hard to get her laughing. Nathan must have the gift.

Tahlia's first taste of chocolate.

On Saturday we made the most of it and took the kids down to the park for a BBQ lunch and a play. Oh and it was Tahlia's 1st picnic. Well you do not count the times we took her as a newborn.

Nathan making the most of being out and being free to run.

The new playground, Nate could not wait to try it out.

Some of the locals come to check us out.

Nate playing...

and after a busy day and some time in the sun someone is having a nap.

Happy Fathers Day

Well Nige's 2nd Fathers Day and twice as lucky with our 2 beautiful kids. Nige got a 4X4 book from the kids for Fathers day, and we can't wait to take that out. Also they made a tee a Playgroup, and had their handprints on it. Nige loved it.

We had both familys here and we tried out Nige's BBQ which he got for our anniversary (back in Feb).

So it was a first for the BBQ having a big cookup and also getting some use of the our extension. And it was fantastic.... the sunny weather had some imput too.

What more could you want with good food, good weather and yes good company.

Tahlia looking ever so cute.

Daddy and his little gems.

Some of the mob enjoying the food.

Still tucking into the food.

Back in Action

Hi family & friends!

We are back! After last weekend and not having the computer, it came to the conclusion that we use it too much and wanted some time out. Took Nige most of the weekend to fix it. And lo and behold it was all up and running before Monday but then l never had anytime to sit down and catch you up on our news.

Wanted to say Congrats to the friends who have had babies in the past 2 weeks. Can't wait for some photos.

Also happy Fathers day to all those dad's out there and we hope you had a lovely day yesterday. Will catch up on that later on.

Tahlia had her first strawberry and quite enjoyed it. She loves her fruit and veggies... but is not too keen on meat

Helping daddy when he works from home.

The weekend before Fathers Day we did a BIG cleanup of the yard, which needed quite a bit of work after the extension. It was perfect weather for a clean up, and the kids both enjoyed some sunshine and fresh air. Espically Tahlia who has not seen much of the outdoors, let alone wriggle her little toes in the grass. She had a ball.

Trying out daddy's new wheelbarrow.

Nathan helping Tahlia around.

Our little Ray of Sunshine

Fun in the sun.

Helping to water the plants.
