Photography

Renee has been having a lot of fun this week with the photos on the computer after finding a website that edits your prints. A lot of looking through photos back as far as 2006 (when we got our first SLR digitial camera). After making hikes, 4x4 trips and other day outings here are a few of what we wipped up earlier.

All these photos can be found for sale as cards or prints on http://www.redbubble.com . If interested let us know.

Renee's hobby is a little dangerous though, means more outings and exploring to find the hidden treasure. But if that means more time in the great outdoors then l do not think you will hear any of complaining. Hope you enjoy these few photos as much as we enjoy taking them.

We went and saw Ken Duncan(the well known photographer) last Sunday at Jean and David's church (Nige's folks) and it was inspiring to see some of his work and hear where his life journey had taken him. Maybe after seeing him it inspired Renee to get into photography a bit more.

Well this is this week's post all about photos, landscapes and editing programs... has not left much time for anything else (like kids). Nah not really they aren't complaining. They now accompany Renee on her outings with their toy cameras and "snap" away at everything we see. We must be training them well. So you never know you may see their work in here one day.

Getting Itchy feet....

Nige borrowed some Wild Magazines from the library last week, and i made the mistake of reading them. Now l am suffering for the yearning to get back into the great outdoors with my pack and just walk and see where my feet take me.

Its been way too long since l have been on a real hike. I even went as far as getting a new pack for our overnight hikes and have never been able to use it as l fell pregnant with Nathan. Then Tahlia came along and my role changed. Nige got to go hiking while l stayed at home with the kids. He got the blisters while my feet never even left the house... My boots must be gathering dust somewhere, feeling unloved and looking way to clean and too new to be even called hiking boots.

Now the kids are a little older we will start training them into mini hikers. Get them into the great outdoors and share our love of walking.

Off to dream about hiking and where our next adventure will be... The Overland track.... here we come.

Photography

Renee has been getitng into photography a bit more after reading about a website http://www.redbubble.com and learning that they were holding a competion called rejuvination and it was all about nature growing back in the fire effected areas of the Yarra Valley. So one sunny but cool Friday the kids and Renee armed with food, drinks and don't forget the cameras headed out to the wild world for a day full of taking photos.

here are some of them.
Mountain Road (taken near Kinglake surrounded by what is left of the burnt bush and trees).

This one was the one Renee entered into the comp, and was one of the finalists. Her work was displayed at one of the local wineries.

Catch up time

Sorry been a bit slack in this area. Just been busy and enjoying the spring weather. Getting out in the great outdoors and having picnics and going for walks. That will all stop once the kids go to school, l know l will miss that when that happens.

Not sure where to start seeing you have all missed a few months. I suppose with the cubby house.

Up goes the frame.

Had our first warm day which was about 25 so thought we would make the most of it and have a day out to Mornington to see the boats and walk on the beach. The kids had a ball on the beach, and found lots of BIG jellyfish and a few starfish. They had a paddle in the water and its the first time Tahlia has really enjoiyed it. Usually she is a little unsure. But with her big brother Nate holding her hand, they both ran along the waters edge giggling everytime a wave came in.

Ready for the beach.

Nathan and the jellyfish he found.

We walked along the jetty and watched the fishmen catching their fish. Then someone told us a pod of dolphins were coming in near the jetty. So we went to have a look, not sure who was more excited the kids or Renee.

Nate and his beach hut (he chose this as it matches the colours in his top).

And now some photos of the Dolphins.
