A week of birthday parties

It has been a busy week (thats why l have not caught up on last's week's blog).

Tahlia

Saturday we had a 1st birthday party of a friend from church and Playgroup. Just as well the weather was fantastic that weekend as we spent a lot of time outside. The kids had a ball with the BBQ sausages and ice cream in a cone. What a treat.

Nate and Tahlia with their cones.

Tahlia is certainly enjoying her cone.

And kept her quiet for a good 20 mins. She even ate the whole thing which is very good for a child who is usually so fussy in what she eats.

A friend lent us this cute little outfit but it has not been warm enough for Tahlia to wear. But was able to get it out and put it on her and she looked so cute. Like something from the 1940s.

That afternoon we had my SIL's birthday party. Which meant Nate and Tahlia could spend some time playing with their cousion who is a year older then Nate. They had a ball playing chasey and drawing.

Nathan all worn out before the party has even started.

Toot toot big red car....

Yes Finally Nate's bed is almost finished. Nige finished it on the weekend and only needs the front of the car to be painted and go at the base of his bed. All l can say is Nate loves it. Thanks Daddy!!

Nate and his big red car.

Nate asleep in the big red car.

And Tahlia asleep just cos l can. This is how she usually sleeps.. it must be freezing for her on the cold nights.

Here she is all rugged up.

We had a good family friend's daughter's 1st birthday on the weekend. Poor Nate kept thinking the party was for him. Like l have said he is just fasinated with his own birthday at the moment. So took quite some explaining that no it was not his birthday, but someone else's but his was coming up.

He agreed with that till they brought out the birthday cake and he rushed up thinking it was time for him to blow out the candles. But was happy when he was able to eat some of the cake.

Here he is all ready. I asked for him to smile and this is what we got.

CHEESE!

DR Tahlia, with the whacky hairstyle.

Not sure what she is planning to do with the hairbrush here... looks very cheeky.

After such a busy weekend this is how l found Nate having a nap in his beanbag in his room. Slept for ages too.. was so worn out.

Till next week... TOOT TOOT

A walk by the river

Tahlia as cheeky as ever and so grown up.

Over the weekend we took the kids to Warburton for a picnic by the river and then for a stroll along the river. The kids had a ball and l can't believe how much Tahlia has grown. No pram was needed thanks mummy l will walk. And walk she did, well almost like a run.

Tahlia having lunch.

Nathan had a ball and had to run everywhere. He did not like having to walk behind Nige or l and liked to be up the front to run ahead. Hopefully a little hiker in the making. I can't wait till they are ready to hike as my feet are getting itchy to get out there.

Nate and his lunch (he never looks at the camera).

Father and daughter.

Its a pleasent place and was lovely to walk along the river, till Nate saw the playground on the other side so we had to go over there and let him have a play.

Trying to get 2 kids to look is just impossible.

Yarra River in Warburton.

The river.

Certainly was cooler in Warby though. But such a pretty little spot for a picnic and walk.

After the walk along the river we went to check out the Rainforest walk. All the climbing the stairs wore Nathan out. But it was very pretty and pleasent and the kids enjoyed it. Tahlia was in the pram this time, so was carried up and down the stairs. She thought it was funny.

The rainforest

The creek in the rainforest. Just so pretty. (there were no leeches there so l was happy).

Mother and daughter.

Tahlia giggling as we carry her down the steps.

Other then that it has been a busy week with Nige and work. The other night it took him 4hours to get home after that day we had the bad storms. Public transport was shocking. He was glad to get home in the end. But his week included a lot of late nights last week.

This week is a quiet week and the kids have now come down with colds but are happy playing and giggling with each other. So they are all good.
Till next week.
