The kids first trip to Melbourne zoo

Took the kids to the zoo on the weekend, for my birthday and something we wanted to do over summer for the kids. Nathan loved the zoo and on the way home fell into an exhausted sleep, but once home his first words were "Natey wants to go to the zoo again". He walked all day around the zoo and did so well, we were so proud of him, but certainly wore him out.

We saw many animals and Nathan's favourite was the giraffe (as well as daddy) where mummy loves the orang-utans.

Meerkats, they are so cute and curious little creatures. Tahlia saw them and said "wffffft" which means woof.

Red Panda

Nathan and Tahlia try some seal riding.

Tahlia getting to know her seal.

Check out those lashes.

How cute is this little baby turtle,

Tahlia is all worn out.

Can we get one of these?

Or an baby elephant.

Nathan and his elephant.

Elephant.

No, l def want to take this one home.

Nathan and poppy. He was so worn out poppy had to give him a piggy back to the see the gorillas.

Happy birthday to me

Well l am finally "old"... now in the big 30s. Not that l feel much different. I did sit back and look at what we have achieved in the last few years. And l think having 2 fantastic kids, a house and a extension, that we have done very well. Not too bad for a 30 year old.

I was spoilt for my 30th and recieved a lovely parcel from some friends on a parents online forum. Included in there was a lovely necklace, which both the kids had to model for me. (excuse the vegemite on Nate's face).

And my other little modelling grub!

We spent the day at home just the kids and myself, nice and relaxing... well l am too old now to party on! (not quite). And in the evening we had my folks and brother over for a meal of chicken and chips with yummy salads. And l was spoilt by darling Nige who made me a Black Forest cake too.

Here are my little cuties giggling at the camera. I had a friend ask how l get them to smile and stay still. Well this was embrassing but l had a red plastic kids shovel on my head in the photo and had to dance to get them to look and laugh. The things we do to get our kids to smile.

Little Miss Cheeky.

Mr Cheeky himself.

Our little happy bear. (not sure what l had on my head this time to get her to laugh).

Tahlia with Uncle Stu and Poppy.

Poppy, Tahlia, Nate and mummy with my cake. See l really am 3 years old. It was funny as Tahlia had grabbed one of the cherries off the cake just before this photo was taken. She certainly wants the cake.

Into Feb already

I can't believe Feb is here and l am getting behind in the posts. But here we are.

The cheeky monkeys (this horse used to be mine as a kid).

Our cheeky Bluey....

Tahlia is such a tomboy.

And they love to have story time in the evening with daddy. They love their books.

It was our 6th anniversary this week and Nige really spoilt me and took me to the beach with a fantastic picnic. Then we headed to the Dromana drive in. What a way to end a fantastic night. Thanks Nige!

A catch up post

Time has flown and we are already in Feb. Where has the last month gone? Things have been busy here and been out and about every weekend when we can.

One big change with the Prado is we finally got a bullbar for it thru ebay. Here is Nige and his mate putting it on.

Nathan had to run inside and grab his "tools" to help daddy. ( i am sure l had a pic of the finished car with bullbar)....

Over the Australia Day weekend we took the kids for a day out to the Gulf Station in the Yarra Valley. Here is the link to the place. http://www.gulfstation.com.au/ It was a hot day but thank goodness for the cool breeze to keep us all cool. Here are some pics of the day.

Nathan all ready to go.

Old draft horses working the farm.

More sites of the farm.

Stayed tuned to next time.
