Try this week again.

I wrote all this out the other day and it took me about an hour, only to have myself hit the wrong key and WHAM it all went.!!!

Tahlia is now 7 months and on the go all the time now. Is crawling both backwards and forwards. It is quite funny as she will wedge herself into a corner or under the couch when she crawls backwards, and has not learnt that to get out you need to move forwards. So she just calls for help and once of us will come and rescue her.

But not paper is safe around her, no matter how small, or what type it all tastes good to Tahlia. She also has a thing for "wally" our vacum cleaner (of course when it is not on). This is what we found one day.

Not even Tissue paper is safe when Tahlia is around.

She looks quite proud of herself her, or it tastes pretty good.

As you all know (or most of you), and if you don't you will now. That Nate loves Bob the builder. Every truck or road work machinery is one of Bob's characters. And he gets to see quite a bit as they are doing roadworks at a round-about near us.

Anyhow Aunty Tori and Uncle Dave got Nate a Bob the builder outfit for his birthday and it is a hit. So is the Bob DVD which he loves to watch. (when he sits still for long enough).

Now that Tahlia is getting around she loves to check out all the toys on offer, even if that means the taste test.

Now she just needs her feet to reach the ground and nothing is stopping her.

The other day l tried to give Nate some orange, and he was not really impressed with it. But Tahlia was and spent the next 1/2 hour enjoying it's taste.

This is the life, good food and good tv.

Nathan is like a little mother (just like his mum was at his age) and wanted to help feed his little sister the other day. Pity she did not open her mouth quick enough, Nate was too quick for her. But it was cute to watch.

Maybe another one to follow daddy's footsteps.

And Tahlia first bath once l finally cleaned out the bath and put everything back into the bookcase.

Nate and Tahlia

Tahlia loves the water.

And of course Nate never gets enough.

Till next week.

Nige hits 30!!

Well the time has come that Nige has hit the 30's. Who would think he would be married and have 2 beautiful children by the time he was 30. Well done Nige!

Pity he had to work on his special day. As he was working hard and earning money for his family, back at home Nathan and l were making a very yummy cake. It was mud cake and we decorated it with smarties. It was funny as we were making it l think Nate ate more smarites then were on the cake.

The end product. It was so yummy too.

And when the cake was done and put back in the fridge for when daddy came home. Nathan was not impressed and cried in his cot for the next hour wanting "cake". Try explaining to a 2 year old that we can have cake when daddy comes home.

Tahlia and her new doggy.

Tahlia gets in party mood Pumpkin style.

Yum yum.

Daddy and his rugrats.

Let me help blow out the candles daddy.

It takes family effort to get these candles out.. and Tahlia wants cake.

Nate seems to think this is pretty good.

Let's open the presents.

What did you get?
Well Nige happy 30th and can't wait to see what you look like at your 60th. Better looking l bet, as they say you age with style.

One cold and foggy afternoon in the park.

On Sunday we decided to get out of the house and take the rugrats for a drive and see where we end up. Headed out to the Ranges and found a little park in Kinglake.

Well Nate spotted it by saying "swings" (his word for park). So we rugged them both up and jumped out for the adventure on a cold and misty afternoon. And let me tell you cold is not even the word to describe what it was like there.brrrrr

Nate was the first to the tractor and insisted daddy put him up there and then jump up there with him. Not sure where they went for a drive to as they both told me "boys stuff" so l guess that left Tahlia and myself on our own.
Ready for a drive with the "boys"

But where-ever they went it was not far as Nate soon realised he could not reach the gears to the tractor. Also l think Nate soon found out tractors were not made for the fast and furious. Much to his disapointment. I am sure he would try and convince daddy to take it home so he can play (read drive) it around.

"Come on dad let me try this baby out"

They soon thought they would try something else at the park as this tractor was not getting them any where fast. And even mummy and Tahlia could keep up with them. So much for boys stuff."Come on mum how can you keep up?"

"What seems to be the hold-up?"

"HMMM maybe we have a flat tyre? let me check."

"oh my seems we have 4 flats tyres. And there is no spare"

"may have to ring for reinforcements. Are we covered with RACV?"

Tahlia sits by and is quite amused, boys and their toys she thinks.

So they soon found out that with no tyres and not covered with RACV they thought they would try their luckon something else to get to their secret destination.

Seems this way is a bit lop-sided. Won't get far this way.

"if only this horse had legs" think Nate.

They next come up with the idea of climbing the steps and sliding down the slippery thing that they may get to their destination. But they would not listen to Tahlia and l when we tried to tell them it was just a slide.

"up l go" pants Nate

"Ok ready.. here l come"

"Wow check out the view"

"here l am, down the bottom and ready to go again"

Nathan learnt that he was getting no where and going around in circles. So he then thought he would take the smartest and cutest of the lot of us and try the tractor again. Plus we all know females can read maps.

We both share the wheel and you tell me which way to turn.

" i am not sure if he is seroius about this or not.. looks like rain to me" Tahlia says.

"Rubbish" Nate replies

Ok maybe you are right about that rain. It is getting darker and colder"

How about we go back to the car and get some food and drink. Let me park this and l will leave it here. Not much use with no wheels. Its ok no-one else can drive it.

So back in the car we all got and shared our experience and wisdom over chips and a nice cool drink after all that hard work (on Nige's and Nate's side)

Till next time we shall see if Nige and Nate ever got to their destination.

Singing in the fog...

This week it has been one of foggy mornings or even foggy days. It's funny as l have been driving in the car with Nate and this is the conversation we have:

Nate "Rain"

Mummy " No Nathan its called Fog"

Nate " Ribbit"

Mummy " No not frog, maybe Mist is a better word"... lol

The things children say, just priceless.

Been a quiet week at home and both the kids (and myself) are getting over another cold. Seems to be a common visitor in our home lately.

Tahlia got a new toy this week, a puppy that has many different textures and items on it to keep her occupied. She loves it.

Nige was at a conference at work this week and they had a booth that had some Bunnings things on there. So he brought Nate home a blow up hammer. Nate loves it. So much so it has to go to bed with him that night. Note the way he sleeps in his bed, up the wrong way and no covers on him.

This week we went to Gran-nan's and Gran-pop's home for dinner. The kids had a lovely time playing with Gran-nan and gran-pop. And l am sure they enjoyed having the kids there and making them feel youthful.

Tahlia 6.5 months.

Tahlia and Great grandma and grandma,

Little Nate.

Men's Business

Over the Queens Birthday weekend Nige and the blokes went for a 3 day hike up on the Murray at Hattah Lakes, while l stayed home with the Rugrats.

Here are some of the things l missed out on.

The walks begins on the Saturday morning... a long way to go yet.

Some happy hikers, "are we there yet?".

Some of the amazing scenery.

Right Snack time...

The things you find in the desert. Some sort of wild melon.

Some of the locals.

I believe it was rather cold that night and got down to 0c. Just as well l wasn't there. But then this is what they woke up to the next morning.

And the mist on the Murray River.

Our campsite early in the morning. Trying to dry off the tents before we head off for the next 20kms for the day.

Snack time again and time to rest our weary legs....

And last but not least.... the mob who went hiking. Cold, tired, wet and weary and wanting to get home to soak in the hot bath. But raring to plan the next trip.
