A bit of this and that....

Well as the title says this is a bit of this and that.... now that my camera is working again. (for now).

Nathan loves to colour in and do any sort of art and craft. So we decided to make some "flowers" out of paper using Nate's handprints. I traced around his hand and Nate had the fun job of colouring it in.

Here is a pic of Nate making his craft.

Tahlia's new room is still not done and she is in our room at night. Sometimes in for her morning nap she will go down into Nate's room. This morning l had changed his bed sheets and could hear talking in there. And this is what l found in there.

Tahlia has now had some apple... Yum....

Nathan smelling his "flowers" he made.

And my family having playtime.

Well like l said earlier Nige got the camera working again but not sure how long for. So l have plenty more pics for you all to enjoy.

My little bear

Lounging around in Nate's chair

Another of my bear... l think that hat is too cute.

Seeing we had a bear Nate wanted to be a puppy. But it is very hard to get a picture of him sitting still enough. He kept jumping around and "barking"

Think that is enough for now. Till next time.

My camera does the dunk!

well another week has flown by and l think l missed last week's write up! Should start from last weekend "Mothers Day".

We had lunch at Fasta Pasta with my mum and dad, Stu, and Nige's folks and sister (& family). Was very busy in there with all the mums having lunch. Guess not many dad's who know how to cook.. heeh (won't bring up dad's scrambled eggs story). But it was nice to be able to go out (and enjoy a meal) with loved ones, and not have to do the dishes afterwards... haha...

When we were out l wanted some pics only to find my batteries had died. So popped them into the charger and on my way l went. I stupidly put the camera on the nappy table and there was a nappy bucket with water in underneath. Water was cooling... and yep add the two together and you get a wet camera. Just even after a quick dip.

But nothing our insurance can't fix, just have to wait for the new camera now. *sigh* Got it working today and here is a pic of my bears....

So not the kind of ending l wanted for Mothers day. So no pics of that day from me.

Oh yeah the important part was l got some lovely warm pj's from the kids... good choice Nathan and Tahlia

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATE!

Well it is here the "Terrible Two's" (did l say that). I can't believe Nathan is 2. The time has flown by. But he is a delightful little boy to have around.

Some history. I went into labour on Mothers day 2005 (not that l knew that at the time) and had Nige driving me around Belgrave (he was looking at the hard rubbish) and finding every bumpy road we could find. It was not till we got home and had hot dogs for tea and l went to bed feeling ill that l thought "oh maybe l am in labour". So rang the hosptial at 10pm and they suggested l have a bath. Rang them back at 11pm and went in.

I was still sitting around at 12noon on the Monday waiting and waiting, picking on the nurses (as you do to pass time). My OB came in now and then to check me out. By the 17th hour he said things were not progressing and wanted to do am c/section as Nathan was in distress. By this stage the pain had kicked in and l did not care. By 5:06pm l had my little red head screaming boy in my arms and l was in love.

Nate and poppy. (can't half tell where the red hair comes from).

Nate and his cake. (cupcakes l made for playgroup)

Nana and Pop came over for an early dinner and then we opened up his gifts. His favourite gift was his new cd player and all he wanted to do was play his "usic".It was funny he could not figure out how it worked, not until l told him it needed to be plugged into the power in his room. He also got a Thomas the Tank DVD, some Thomas and Bob the builder clothes, some tools and concrete trucks. He was very spoilt.

He then showed Nana and Pop to how clever he is with his remote control car on the floorboards. We certainly wore him out as he went to bed happy and not a peep out of him.

Had to share one l took of Tahlia today. Not sure who she looks like? She is a bit grumpy today (as well as mummy and daddy) as she decided 3am was a good time to cry and everything we did would not settle her. She finally settled down at 5:30am or there abouts. But about to take them all to the dentist, just so Nate can get used to the place and well Tahlia to get some dentures.. lol just kidding.

I think l have another baby tooth about to fall out! Yep you heard right, it was sore for a few months and then l was eating something the other night and was certain it moved (the tooth not the food) and yeah there is some slight movement. To look at it in the mirror l can see the other new tooth coming down. Some people laugh when l tell them and say "so you are teething. Are you irritable, drooling, not sleeping.." Yep l tell them (but not cos of the teeth eheh) the joys of motherhood.

Also off to an Open Night at a local school to have a look at their Early Learning Program for Nathan. He will start at 3yo. So best get the kids ready and off to the dentist.

The week of the birthday boy

I can't believe Nathan is 2 years old. Where has the time gone? Today is his birthday but will do a seperate write up on that later when my folks come over for tea and to see Nathan. But this week there has been a lot of mini celebrations for Nate.

He had his party on Saturday. And that was a good day. And then he also took some cupcakes for his friends (and parents ) at playgroup. Then there is tonight when nana and pop come over to see him.

Anyhow enough of the birthday boy. Like l said we will hear more about him later on. Let's talk Tahlia. She has started to have more solids now and will even have her first try of apple tonight. My baby is growing up too quickly.

Here are some pics of me feeding her the other night. (yep she even sampled Nate's birthday cake).

Also found Nathan and Tahlia sharing cuddles this morning and here they are together on the couch. So cute.

Nate's 2nd birthday lunch

We woke to an overcast and cool Saturday morning. Rain threatened the day, but none came. Certainly would have been very welcome!

Nige and l spent the morning cooking, cleaning and preparing for everyone to come for lunch. Was hard to re-arrange the house, as YES the building is still underway. But we managed to put 2 tables together and it was nice to be able to sit at the table and eat a meal. Beats the stable tables and tv... plus l did not have a spare 6 stable tables to share around. lol

Tahlia looked the little princess in her new kilt and matching cardigan. What a cutie!

Tahlia struts her stuff!

Tahlia gets in the mood.

Just cos l can.....

We celebrated Nate turning 2 with a Roast beef lunch and to join the beef was Cauliflower cheese, honey carrots and roast potatoes yum yum. For dessert Jean brought over a pav.. yum.

Nigel and l made the cake and this years theme was Bob the builder. Nathan loves Bob. So we made two rectangle cakes and joined them together and then iced them and decorated them with smarties, clinkers and some toy road work trucks. We think it looked good and was fun making it together.

Everyone came over at noon, great-gran, grandad, grandma, A.Karen, A.Rachel and cousion Maddy.

Nathan and his cake

Tahlia's first food... but she's wanting the chocolate

Well we bit the bullet and tried Miss T on her first foods. She has been watching us and licking her lips and making "chewing" faces as we eat our meals. I wanted Nige to be there so l could take some pictures of our precious girl and her yummy "rice cereal".

She already tells me l am the best cook with her milk and can't get enough of it. She is easy to please.

What's this stuff daddy

Daddy let me have a go!

I think l prefer the chocolate.

Whats in this stuff?

Daddy and his girl.

Our next Australian Idol....

Ops been about 2 weeks since l last posted in here. But then that also means a lot more to tell you.

Tahlia is certainly growing up quickly and l was looking at her baby photos (hehe not that she isn't a baby anymore), but she has changed so much. She is very different to Nate and her personality is really shining out now.

She is a lot quieter then Nathan, and seems to sit there and take everything in. Or she sits there and will study the toys around her or whatever is in her hand. Nathan was more like "let me at them".lol

I can't believe she is already 5months, the time has certainly flown by. She will not be my baby for much longer.

Last weekend (Saturday) we had a birthday BBQ for nana at A.Jill's. It has been a while since my family have all gotten together. And as usual it was full of laughs and games. Where would we be without all the fun. ( you have had to experience a family get-together to know what l mean) and once under the spell you are never the same again. I mean just look what we did to Nathan.

Nathan is almost 2 and Gran-nan and Gran-pop gave him his birthday present early as they will not be at his party. (and no the Gold is not Nate's). He was given a camp chair and a tee-shirt.

Now l could not get over this when my "baby brother" said he had never given Tahlia a cuddle. I must have been hogging my little girl all this time. So had to share Tahlia and her much loved Uncle Stu (and not she did not cry for him either).

Well we ate our BBQ dinner, and stuffed ourselves with dessert and then heard A. Jill cry out that it is time for some fun and entertainment. Oh dear l knew that meant Carokee. And Nate was the star of the night. He knew what to do with the microphone and even got some of the notes right. I am not sure where his talent is from (even though Nige seems to think it comes from the Murdens). Nate laped up all the attention and even got in the mood with his lovely pruple wig and pj's.

He certainly was a party animal and was up till 11pm singing and dancing the night away. Wasn't till we left around 11:30pm and drove for about 15mins, he was soon dreaming about becoming the future Australian Idol. Wonder if he will have the same look then. Or maybe he will be the youngest Australian Idol. Anyhow keep an eye out for Nate and his purple wig.... you just never know where you may see him.
