Christmas 2007

I can't believe another year has flown by and it is now Tahlia's second Christmas. I am sure she understands it a lot more this year. Well is more aware of it and the gifts, but she prefers chewing the paper.

Spent the morning with the children and their gifts. They slept in till 9am as we went and saw some of the lights the night before and that must have tired them out. I can't remember the last time sleeping in on Christmas Day. I am sure it will not be the same next year.

The guitar was a real hit. Thanks Great-Gran!!! Our little muso in the making. (we even caught him dancing and playing the guitar to the wiggles CD).

Then we had a Roast lunch and Nige made the famous "Yorkshire pudding's" and they are sooo good.

After lunch the kids went to bed dreaming about the food they ate and the gifts they were to play with next. It was lovely but we were able to kick our feet up and sit down and read for a few hours. Now that was just bliss.
After the kids woke we got them ready to head to mum and dad's for an evening there.
When it came to open the gifts Nathan played the role as Santa's little helper and loved helping hand out the gifts to everyone.

An evening in the park

After telling Nige about our morning in the park with Great Gran. He just had to check it out for himself. So we met him at Eltham Station and took him to the park for a play with the kids.

After dinner and a play it was time to head home, and two tired but happy little children were soon asleep dreaming about their trip to the park.

A morning at the park with great gran.

We thought seeing we had a cooler morning and now that playgroup is not on that we would take the kids to the park. Also thought great gran would like to come along as well.

We chose the park in Eltham, a popular one that Nige and l had stopped at when we have been bike riding.

It was great place to choose as they had upgraded the park and it was fantastic. There is now a roof over the whole playground and lots of little places for the kids to hide, climb and slide.

Will have to take the (BIG) kid one day. I bet though it is packed on the weekend.

Happy first Birthday Tahlia

On the 24th Nov our little bear was one. The year has certainly flown by. Here are the pics of her BIG day.

Opening her gifts from us, with the help of big brother Nathan.

She loves her Tigger and Pooh bear.

Present time.

Tis the silly season.

It is the time of the year where everything and everyone is just so busy. In fact so busy to find time to update the family blog! But l have some time (me time) and the kids are in bed worn out after a busy day travelling yesterday.

Ah l love this time where l can sit down and have some quiet time. I should really be ironing but ah who loves housework!
Seeing it has been a while since the last update this one will be a bit of everything.

Not sure what he was up to here.

But here he is at poppy's birthday.

He has a thing for birthday cakes at the moment. It must be b'c of all the birthday parties we have been to. But he will sit outside in the tanbark and make "birthday cakes" out of the bark. Then next it will be a sandcastle then back to the cake. He will sit out there for ages playing and making cakes.

This morning after getting our new toaster out of the box (long story) he found the packaging and was putting he blocks in there and stacking it up. When asked what he was up to his reply was "making birthday cakes"... need l ask.

Now to the long story. One morning while at home, Nathan got into his first lot of mischief.... well first serious lot. I must remember this for his 21st. Anyhow we were cleaning the house... no hang on l was yep ironing. Nige was watching Shrek with the kids.

I had finished the ironing and turned the iron off and went to put some washing away. Then l could smell something burning, at first l thought it was the iron. But that checked all clear and was off. Then l noticed Nate had gone.

Found him in the kitchen with smoke everywhere and an awful toxic smell. Found the cheeky lad had placed soemthing in the toaster. Nige quickly put the fans on, after hearing me squeal. And then attempted to save whatever was in the toaster. Once out we worked out it was some soap in a little bag, that is usually in the car. So no idea where he found that. Boys will be boys.

Catching up with some mums and bubs (we used to work together).

We took the kids one Saturday night to Badgers creek for a BBQ dinner. It was a rather warm evening and the cool breeze down there was very welcome. Tried to get some Christmas pics of the kids to make into Christmas cards ( a challenge).

Nathan was not sure of the rosealla landing on his head. He did try and feed them but once they all started fighting it was a bit too much. No point trying Tahlia as she prefered to try and eat the seed.

Nana and poppy took the kids to a Christmas Party, here they are waiting for them to come and pick them up. Aren't they cute.

Saturday morning we woke to Tahlia crying (which is normal) then we heard Nathan crying as well. We wondered if he was copying Tahlia (as he does) or whether he really was hurt. This is what we found when we went to check it out.

Yep his leg is stuck in the gate. It took Nige a good 40mins or so to get him out. In the end he had to get a clamp to force the bars open to get his leg out. He was very brave and hardly made a noise.

But that is the end of this crazy week. Till next time.
